Crash Data

For more information about transportation safety performance measures and how NCDOT tracks this information, head over to the Performance Dashboard.

The Transportation Mobility and Safety Division and the NCDOT Executive Committee for Highway Safety have collaborated with the NCDOT - State Road Management Unit - Mapping Section to develop and produce County Crash Distribution Profile Maps for North Carolina. These visual representations of the distribution and frequency of the most current five (5) years of reported 1) Fatal, 2) Fatal + A injury, and 3) Total Crashes provide a user friendly tool for the public, NCDOT’s safety partners and the department’s leadership team.

Crash Map This collection of high level summary maps effectively displays regions that are experiencing higher frequencies of target type crashes. The three series of maps (All Vehicles, Motorcycle, and Large Truck) provide a simple safety performance overview and support data-driven efforts to identify specific regions, corridors, and specific intersections.
