Change to I-40 East Entrance from Northbound Hammond Road
Drivers who access I-40 E from Northbound Hammond Road in Raleigh will now be rerouted as a result of the Fortify I-40/440 Construction Project. Motorists will now have to turn left at the light at the interchange to get onto I-40 E. Just follow the signs. The old traffic pattern – which allowed drivers to access I-40 East via an on-ramp on the right side of Hammond Road – will be blocked so that crews from Granite Construction can prepare the bridge for lane shifts coming to I-40 in 2015.
Drivers on southbound Hammond Road won't notice any difference in the traffic pattern.
