Town of Elkin and Town of Jonesville Comprehensive Transportation Plan Study

The Town of Elkin and Town of Jonesville Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) is a joint effort between the Town of Elkin, the Town of Jonesville, the Northwest Piedmont Rural Planning Organization, and the NCDOT - Transportation Planning Branch (TPB).

This plan shall be based on the best information available including, but not limited to, population, economic conditions, traffic trends and patterns of land development in and around the County.  This plan shall provide for the safe, efficient, cost-effective and environmentally sensitive use of the transportation system while addressing current and future travel needs.

The municipalities adopted the plan on the following days: the Town of Elkin on January 9, 2012; the Town of Jonesville on February 13, 2012. This was followed by the endorsement by the Northwest Piedmont RPO on February 15, 2012. The Transportation Planning Branch recommended the plan to the NC Board of Transportation on March 12, 2012.  The NC Board of Transportation adopted the Elkin Jonesville CTP on April 5, 2012.
