County / City of Lexington
Comprehensive Transportation Plan Study
Rural Davidson County
The Davidson County Comprehensive Transportation
Plan (CTP) is a joint effort between Davidson
County, the Piedmont Triad Rural Planning
Organization, and the NCDOT – Transportation
Planning Branch.
The Davidson County CTP was adopted by the Town
of Denton March 15, 2010 and by the Davidson
County Commissioners on April 5, 2010. The
Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization
endorsed the Davidson County CTP on April 21,
2010. The Transportation Planning Branch
recommended the mutual adoption of the Davidson
County CTP on May 10, 2010. The North Carolina
Board of Transportation mutually adopted the
Davidson County CTP on July 1, 2010.
Lexington
The City of Lexington Comprehensive
Transportation Plan (CTP) is a joint effort
between the City of Lexington, Davidson County,
the Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization,
and the NCDOT – Transportation Planning Branch.
The Lexington City Council unanimously adopted
the Lexington CTP at their November 8, 2010
meeting. The Davidson County Commissioners also
unanimously adopted the Lexington CTP at their
November 8, 2010 meeting. The Transportation
Planning Branch recommended the mutual adoption
of the Lexington CTP on December 6, 2010. The
Lexington CTP was formally endorsed by the
Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization at
their December 15, 2010 meeting. The North
Carolina Board of Transportation mutually
adopted the Lexington CTP on January 6, 2011.
