The work covered by this section consists of furnishing and installing all materials necessary to construct a concrete foundation for a high mount standard 75' or greater in height.
All materials shall be new and in accordance with Section 1400-4(I).
Concrete foundations shall be constructed in accordance with the details in the plans and Article 14004(I). The dimensions of the foundations and the corresponding quantities of concrete and reinforcing steel are given for the purpose of obtaining bid prices only. Actual dimensions to be used in constructing the foundations will be furnished to the Contractor by the Engineer, in writing, as provided below. The Engineer will make a subsurface investigation at each foundation site. The Contractor shall provide access to each foundation site for this purpose. Access shall be provided sufficiently in advance of foundation construction to permit the subsurface investigation to be made without causing an unreasonable delay in the construction operation. Based on actual soil conditions, the Engineer will then determine and furnish to the Contractor any changes in the depth of the foundations, or changes in other dimensions.
A three foot (3') level work area shall be provided around each high mount foundation with cut and fill slopes extended to final grades as directed by the Engineer.
