SECTION 1130

DRUMS

1130-1 DESCRIPTION.

The work covered by this section consists of furnishing, placing, maintaining, relocating, and removing drums with ballast in accordance with the plans and specifications.

1130-2 MATERIALS.

All materials shall meet the requirements of Division 10 shown below:

1130-3 CONSTRUCTION METHODS.

The provisions of Article 1105­3 will be applicable to the work covered by this section.

All drums installed at any one time during the life of the project shall utilize the same type of reflective sheeting, unless otherwise approved by the Engineer.

When using tire ballasting method, the tires shall be flush with the ground.

1130-4 MAINTENANCE.

All maintenance shall meet the requirements of Article 1105­4.

1130-5 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT.

The quantity of drums to be paid for will be the maximum number of drums acceptably placed and in use at any one time during the life of the project.

1130-6 BASIS OF PAYMENT.

The quantity of drums, measured as provided in Article 1130­5, will be paid for at the contract unit price each for "Drums". Such price and payment will be full compensation for all work covered by this section, including but not limited to furnishing, installing, maintaining, relocating, and removing the drums and ballast.
