The work covered by this section consists of furnishing, installing, maintaining, relocating, and removing warning flags in accordance with the plans and specifications.
All materials shall meet the requirements of Division 10 shown below:

The Provisions of Article 11053 will be applicable to the work covered by this section.
Warning flags are used to supplement other traffic control devices. The flags shall be mounted on the top portion of the device that they are supplementing.
The fabric type flags are normally used for periods up to six months, the rigid panel type flags are intended for periods exceeding six months. The fabric type flag installation shall consist of three flags. The panel type flag installation shall consist of two flags.
Appropriate fastening methods shall be used to mount the flags to signs or other traffic control devices, subject to the approval of the Engineer.
All maintenance shall meet the requirements of Article 11054.
The quantity of warning flags to be paid for will be the maximum number of warning flags acceptably installed at any one time during the project. Relocation of warning flags will be considered incidental, and will not be paid for separately.
The quantity of warning flags measured as provided in Article 11255, will be paid for at the contract unit price each for "Warning Flags".
Such price and payment will be full compensation for all work covered by this section including but not limited to furnishing, installing, maintaining, relocating and removing warning flags.
