1110-1 DESCRIPTION.

The work covered by this section consists of furnishing, installing, maintaining, covering, uncovering, relocating, and removing work zone signs in accordance with the plans and specifications.

1110-2 MATERIALS.

All materials shall meet the requirements of Division 10 shown below:

1110-3 CONSTRUCTION METHODS.

The provisions of Article 1105­3 will be applicable to the work covered by this section.

All portable sign stands shall be a properly ballasted design, approved by the Engineer.

Any work zone signs which must be covered shall be covered with plywood or other material acceptable to the Engineer.

1110-4 MAINTENANCE.

All maintenance shall meet the requirements of Article 1105­4.

1110-5 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT.

(A) Work Zone Signs (Stationary):

The quantity of work zone signs (stationary) to be paid for will be the actual number of square feet of sign panels which have been satisfactorily installed at each required location and accepted by the Engineer. Where a particular sign is used at more than one location, measurement will be made at each location.

(B) Work Zone Signs (Portable):

The quantity of work zone signs (portable) to be paid for will be the maximum number of square feet of the same type and size sign panels which have been satisfactorily installed and accepted by the Engineer. Relocation of signs will be considered incidental to the measurement of the quantity of signs.

(C) Work Zone Signs (Barricade Mounted):

The quantity of work zone signs (barricade mounted) to be paid for will be the maximum number of square feet of the same type and size sign panels which have been satisfactorily installed on barricades and accepted by the Engineer. Relocation of signs will be considered incidental to the measurement of the quantity of signs.

Nominal dimensions will be used to compute the sign panel areas.

1110-6 BASIS OF PAYMENT.

The quantity of work zone signs, measured as provided in Article 1110­5, will be paid for at the contract unit price per square foot for "Work Zone Signs (Type)". Such price and payment will be full compensation for all work covered by this section, including but not limited to furnishing, installing, maintaining, temporarily covering and uncovering signs, relocating, and removing the signs.
