Roadway Design Question and Answer Forum

Plotting

Question:
1. I created Interplot Organizer files like the manual said, updated my settings and workspace, but it will not print all the levels in the file. I am trying to print the jurisdictional streams ("Exist Hydro Jurisdictional Stream or Body of Water" level located under the PDEA folder). They are shown in the plan sheet DGN file, but why will they not print?

2. There is a stream in the wetland file that will not plot. The stream is on level "Exist Hydro Jurisdictional Stream or Body of Water NEU NonMitigable". Is this a level that should plot or should it be renamed?

Answer:
From the February 3, 2009 Roadway CADD Users Group Meeting Minutes, Roadway will turn OFF all levels in the PDEA/NEU Wetland files for plotting in our design script, except for these four levels.

  • Exist Hydro Swamp or Marsh
  • Exist Environmental Endangered Animal Boundary
  • Exist Environmental Endangered Plant Boundary
  • Exist Environmental Wetland Boundary
This course of action was executed by Roadway CADD Support as a result of a draft memo (not yet finalized) by NEU. Prior to the 4B Hydraulics Meeting, NEU will coordinate with The Roadway Design Unit, The Hydraulic Unit, The Photogrammetry Unit, and The Location & Surveys Unit to verify that all jurisdictional streams and wetlands are identified on the plan sheets. If jurisdictional streams are to be shown on the plans, a request to Location and Surveys should be issued to locate and update the planimetric FS file (in the Final Survey folder) with the surveyed jurisdictional streams and their limits. Plotting of jurisdictional stream levels will then be permitted in this updated planimetric file, not in the Wetland file (PDEA folder).
