Special Programs is called upon to develop options
to utilize DOT's current and proposed leased space.
This involves industrial engineering and by using a detailed plan of action. From the first evaluation to the final configuration, many steps are taken.The following are
just a few.
First -
- investigate the current conditions
- listen to and work with the client's requests and concerns
- perform studies for space utilization
- recommends and presents findings to upper management
- develop floor plans showing office / cubicle / cost estimates for budgeting
Then -
- work with vendors to fine tune ergonomic design options for final estimates
- work with Purchasing / State Purchasing / State Properties/ Office & cubicle vendors
- develop the schedule of events to meet target dates
- work with construction crews, cubicle installers during the renovation process
- work with our IT / ITS for communications needs
- the relocation of personnel during and after renovation.
Special Programs is also DOT's liaison to the ITS department. This department is the contact for all units concerning
their phone system. Actively working on replacing DOT's current phone systems.
