The maintenance forces responsible for  clearing snow are not staffed to give individualized road condition reports.  The best place for information is NCDOT's Traveler Information Management System, or TIMS web site.

Another source is the North Carolina State Highway Patrol 1-800-662-7956.  Local TV, radio, and newspapers also report road conditions, expected weather, and school/business closings.
