About CADD
The CADD Services team provides the NCDOT and its customers with a variety of services including (but not limited to) technical support, problem solving, training, and engineering automation.
CADD Services is continually striving to increase enterprise productivity and efficiency of the NCDOT through standardization and improvement of CADD related practices and procedures.
CADD Coordinators
Each unit or organization with the NCDOT should have a designated CADD Coordinator who represents them in CADD matters and also acts as a first contact for CADD support. To find out who the CADD Coordinator for your organization is please see this document:

Important Notices for Consultants
10.20.10 - The UpdateWS program has now been updated to use “passive FTP” instead of “active FTP”. This should resolve the problems that some of our external clients may have encountered when attempting to use the program. The updated version is available for download in the Workspaces section below.
03.09.09 - Memo About CADD Pay Item Utility, from Bill Elam, PE - Hydraulics Engineer.
06.28.05 - It has been reported that when using the consultant's workspace, particularly the Location workspace, some dgnlib levels are missing. We have discovered a problem with the consultants workspace where the unit's configuration file is not read. We have made a change in the english and metric pcf files to fix this. We also added the following line to the consultant_mslocal.cfg file :
NCDOT_CONSULTANT_WORKSPACE = True
(line 18 in the new file)
Please update your NCDOT_V8_CONFIG folder from our ftp site. Either use the new consultant_mslocal.cfg file or add line number 18 into your existing file. This should fix the missing levels problem.

The CADD standards information is designed for users of MicroStation & other CADD related software (i.e. DesCartes, Geopak, IPlot, etc.) on NCDOT projects. It is our intent to provide the latest information and enhancements to increase productivity and promote standardization throughout the NCDOT.
Workspaces
Information about the latest NCDOT MicroStation workspace for CADD users along with the basic components for use by our consultants.
The workspace update program (UpdateWS.exe) will allow the user to check and update any of the standard NCDOT Workspaces.
